Vidya has completed her primary education from St. Anthony Girls’ Secondary School, Chembur, Mumbai. Vidya Balan graduated in Sociology from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. When Vidya Balan was doing post graduation from  Mumbai Univ in sociology, at that time she got the offer of the first movie.

Balan started her career with music videos, soap operas, and commercial advertising, and she started her career in the field of film, from the Bengali film, Bhalo Theko (2003), for which film critics took her brownie Later, she started her career in Hindi films from Parineeta (2005), The movie was highly praised by reviewers, although the film proved to be unsuccessful  at box office. But critics in this movie liked Vidya’s acting very much. For that movie, she won Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut Won and her first successful business venture was Raj Kumar Hirani  Munnabhai (2006).

Balan has thus established itself as a successful actress. Once again, her acting debut was on the verge of film pundits and it was the second most successful film of that year. In 2007, Vidya was Mani Ratnam’s film Guru’s first film in which she was playing as a disgrace, and Vidya’s acting was highly appreciated by critics. This movie did a great job at the Bollywood box office. Vidya Balan’s career was the best time since 2009, when Vidya got the best time in films like  Ishqiya, Pa, No One Killed Jessica, and The Dirty Picture.

After acting in these films, Vidya Balan made her tremendous hold as one of Bollywood’s most prominent modern artists. Vidya Balan has received many awards and honours to play these superb roles in the films. Apart from films, she appointed as the goodwill ambassador of an NGO Arpan, that spread awareness on the sexual abuse in 2017. Post her wedding too, she has been equally active in the industry. In 2017, she gave a massive hit in Tumhari Sulu. In 2018, she served as the narrator of the documentary film Amoli. In 2019, she made her Telugu film debut through NTR’s biopic film N.T.R: Kathanayakudu and N.T.R: Mahanayakudu. She played the role of his wife in this film. In 2019, she did a guest appearance in Tamil film Nerkonda Paarvai. She also was an integral part of superhit Bollywood film Mission Mangal. In 2020, she will be portraying the role of Shakuntala Devi in the biographical film of Shakuntala Devi.
